The 13th Nairobi International Book Fair

The 13 Nairobi International Book Fair will be held from 22nd September to 26th September 2010 at the Sarit Centre in Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya. The Book Fair is organized by Kenya Publishers Association. The Book Fair's Theme this year is "Read and Grow". Books, whether creative works or factual texts, serve as a reflection of the society from which the writers are drawn. It is therefore our duty to ensure that society is able to communicate effectively on issues that confront it and do so humorously through books. Events at the bookfair will include: Workshops and seminars on topical issues, Book launches, Children activities, Presentation of the Wahome Mutahi Literary Award, Budding Authors seminars, Book Auction cum Books clearance sales.

The Mombasa Regional Bookfair
2 - 5 June 2010
Nairobi | Kenya Mombasa Regional Bookfair.- 2nd June to 5th June 2010
The Kenya Publishers Association will hold its regional bookfair 2010 in Mombasa from 2nd to 5th June 2010 at the Star of the Sea High School Hall.
Activities will include Workshops, children activities, story telling and poet’s recital along the Beach, Budding Authors Seminar, and talent tapping. Entry is free.

Wahome Mutahi Literary Award (2010)
The Wahome Mutahi Literary Award is the brain-child of the Kenya Publishers Association. It was established in 2004 and is open to Kenyan writers whose work is published in Kenya. The prize will be given bi-annually to the author of the most outstanding new book that will use humor and satire to explore areas such as human rights, governance, etiquette and other relevant social issues in the following categories:
Adult Fiction:
English and Kiswahili
Eligible entries for the 2010 Prize are those books published in 2008 and 2009 respectively
Be informed that the entry fee for KPA members is Kshs 5,000/= while for non members is Kshs 10,000/= per entry.
Kindly note that the deadline for submission will be 16th April, 2010.
